Safety Vision on the 10 o'clock News for its Body Worn Camera - Prima Facie

Safety Vision was recently recognized on KHOU, Houston's leading 10 o'clock news program, for the latest in mobile video technology - body worn cameras. Prima Facie, the official name of Safety Vision's body cam, is quickly becoming a hot item within law enforcement circles. "While the cameras clearly protect the officers who use them, company officials say the system offers another benefit as well - the video provides an unbiased account, almost like a third-party witness," said Rucks Russell of KHOU.

Safety Vision, one of just a few companies that manufacture body-cams, is once again acting as a pioneer in developing the latest in mobile video solutions. According to Safety Vision's Vice President of Sales Rex Colorado, "it's one of the least expensive pieces of equipment an officer can have on their body or in their car, and it provides maximum value." While in-car video recorders will always remain a staple in the law enforcement industry, those devices can reach into thousands of dollars. Body worn cameras, on the other hand, are much more fiscally attractive and can provide a first-person perspective not normally acquired by in-car dash cams.

Jeff Schillinger, a local police officer and Safety Vision employee within the Product Development Department who regularly puts the Prima Facie to the test in the field, stated his appreciation of the product, "it's a great asset. To record video, it's a one-touch operation. You press the button and get a beep - that means you're recording. With video and audio recording, it tells the entire story."
